Recently, I went to two different events that raised the idea of role models to me.

The first was an event on life after graduation. Since it was held in a location I had never been to, I joined for the sake of being at that place (and the school it was held in had very beautiful architecture). The speaker talked about the importance of having role models in your life and asked whether we had some.

I paused. I hadn't really think about having role models. I tried to go through the list of people I admire in my head.

  • My parents: Admired them for being able to shove so many things into a day and did not complaint
  • Tesla, Dali, Einstein and so on: Very accomplished in their field of work but not so much in others, especially their personality (?). I never really tried to understood them more than their ideas.
I also looked at some celebrities whose on-screen personality I liked or whose causes I liked very much (I find that for musicians, I usually look at their personality as I know I will be tired of their music sooner or later).
  • Khalil Fong . I like his gentle personality and that he is a vegetarian! He also does jazz: an added bonus!
  • Crowd Lu: I like his simplicity and optimism.
I can't really come out with a role model! hide

I filed the idea in my brain and went to this emotional intelligence course. The coach asked me who were my role models. I told her I hadn't think of it.

So now I am still thinking.

I think role models are necessary because they can give you mental support when you are in a rut. Much like having a religion which you believe in. I believe one reason I never had a role model in mind is because I always try to do things by myself.[EXO] Kris ''Legit'' Crying Emoticon

Do any of you have a role model? How did you come to choose them?
